QUICK ANSWER
To reach Island 5, the Volcano, beat Island 4’s Tuna and Albatross, hand the Albatross Head to the bait-shop NPC for the Flash Drive with the Island 5 coordinates, then follow your Boat Radar north to the volcano.

Island 5 is the Volcano — the fifth and final stop in How to Fish, and the one everyone wants to see. Getting there isn’t a fast-travel unlock; it’s the reward for clearing Island 4’s two boss fights and running a single quest hand-in. Here’s the exact route, from landing on Island 4 to the moment the volcano rises on the horizon.

How to get from Island 4 to Island 5 in How to Fish

Island 5 sits behind two boss kills on Island 4 and one quest hand-in, so work through these in order and the coordinates are yours.

STEP 1/8

Buy the Professional Boss Lure

Pick it up from the Island 4 shop — it’s the bait that summons the Tuna mini-boss.

STEP 2/8

Lure out and kill the Tuna

Drop the lure to pull the Tuna onto land, then gun it down before it can slip back into the water.

STEP 3/8

Place the Tuna to summon the Albatross

Set the dead Tuna on the grass and the Albatross swoops in as your next target.

STEP 4/8

Shoot down the Albatross

Track it as it circles overhead and gun it out of the sky — this is the toughest kill of the run.

STEP 5/8

Pick up the Albatross Head

Grab the Albatross Head it drops with E; that’s the quest item the bait-shop NPC wants.

Cruise north to the Volcano

Follow the pink dot on your Boat Radar north until the volcano — Island 5 — rises into view.

QUICK WIN

When the Albatross is in the air, aim your sniper down its iron sight, not the scope — the wider view makes tracking the circling bird far easier than squinting through zoom.

Beating the Tuna and Albatross gate fights

Item to buy on Island 4 Price
Professional Boss Lure $1200
Boat Radar $200
Dual Motors $860

The Tuna is the first wall, and brute-forcing it rarely goes well. The Professional Boss Lure pulls it onto land, and from there the trick is picking a spot it can’t wriggle out of. Packing an area with dynamite and luring it in works, but the cleanest kill is dragging it up into the Lucky Bait Casino — once it follows you inside you get a clear line on it, and you can kite it around the tables while you shoot, since it won’t dart straight back out. There’s also a tight spot near the shore that boxes it in completely for a free kill.

The Albatross is the harder of the two. It only shows up after you drop the dead Tuna on the grass, then it circles overhead and you have to shoot it down mid-flight, which is fiddly solo. If either fight is grinding you down while you’re under-geared, open Server Settings and drop Difficulty to Easy — it cuts every creature’s health by 25% and their damage by 50%, which turns both gate fights from a slog into something manageable. The game leans much easier in co-op than solo, and Easy exists to close that gap.

Everything you need for the trip is sold on Island 4 before you leave. These are multiplayer-run prices, and if you already picked up the Boat Radar earlier in the game you’ll only need the motor here.

What the Volcano has waiting for you

Land on the Volcano and the tone shifts. A scientist NPC in a yellow hazmat suit is waiting for help, and this island runs on the Fish Bucket — that’s what you’ll need to fish its pool. The catch you’re really building toward is the Bowhead Whale: use the Fish Bucket to summon it out of the pool, then take it down. Its Whale Fin is the key that unlocks the military boat home. That’s the endgame in a sentence — your reach-the-Volcano run ends the moment you cruise up to the island, and everything past it is the finale most players line up next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Volcano the last island in How to Fish?

Yes — Island 5, the Volcano, is the fifth and final stop on the main route. Taking the military boat home after the Bowhead Whale rolls the credits, and once the story is done the post-game reopens every island freely, so you can hop back to any of the five to finish off your fish index and the catches you missed.

Can you skip straight to Island 5 without clearing Island 4?

No. Progress is quest-gated rather than something you can fast-travel past — you have to beat Island 4’s Tuna and Albatross and hand the Albatross Head to the bait-shop NPC to get the coordinates. An early bug let players jump to any island without unlocking it, but that shortcut was patched out.
