If you have a WhatsApp Business account, you probably already have a Facebook page too. Here, we take a look at how to link your WhatsApp Business account to your Facebook page so that you can sync important info between the two. The feature was enabled by the Facebook-owned WhatsApp only now, so, let’s just use it.
With a combined user count of over 4.5 billion across the globe, Facebook and WhatsApp are the two most successful apps in their respective segments. While Facebook revolutionized the social media scene, WhatsApp, too, has had a similar impact on the instant messaging industry. So, when the former acquired the latter in 2014, the world braced itself for complete dominance.
Since the takeover, six years ago, Facebook has used WhatsApp to improve its reach on more than one occasion. Today, we’ll tell you all about one of their newest adventures — the art of linking your WhatsApp Business account to your business’ Facebook page — and help you maximize engagement with customers.
What do you need?
Apart from having your Facebook page, you’ll also need to have a WhatsApp Business account. Your personal WhatsApp number would not work in this scenario. To learn more about WhatsApp Business, check the official FAQ here.
Of course, you will need a Facebook page too which you have been using for your business.
How to link your Facebook page with Whatsapp Business?
Linking the two accounts is a straightforward job, as you only need to follow a few basic on-screen instructions. First, log in to Facebook and head over to your business page. Then go to Settings and click on WhatsApp.
Now, Facebook would need to verify your WhatsApp Business account, for which you’ll need to enter your country code and the WhatsApp number linked to your WhatsApp Business account.
Finally, Facebook will send a verification code to your WhatsApp number, which you’ll need to enter when prompted.
What happens when you link the accounts?
After successfully linking the two accounts, you’d be able to create and run Facebook ads for WhatsApp Business account, such that when anyone clicks on those ads, they will be redirected to your WhatsApp Business account only.
So, with this, you will be able to create Instagram and Facebook ads where users can click on the ‘Send a Message’ button to open a conversation in their WhatsApp with your WhatsApp Business account.
What info is synced from your Facebook page to WhatsApp Business app?
Apart from attending your customers on WhatsApp, you could also sync your Facebook Page and WhatsApp Business accounts, making sure there are no discrepancies in place.
Once you turn on sync, these following items would be synced: Operational hours, Work address, Type of business, Description, Email address, Facebook page URL, and website details. Of course, syncing the info is optional.
