Key Dropping the bird is not the end of the step. Once its health empties, pick up the Albatross Head off the ground before you wander off or sail away — the kill alone leaves your progression stuck. Carry the head back to the scared islander quest-giver on the Rocks and hand it over to receive the Volcano coordinates that open up Island 5.
Mistakes that stall the Albatross fight
The most common one is trying to hook the Albatross directly with a rod — it only ever appears if you bait it with a Tuna, so no lure will summon it. Right behind that is selling, cooking, or leaving the Tuna corpse behind; do any of those and the bird never spawns, forcing you to catch another Tuna from scratch.
In the fight itself, standing in the open or reaching for a Shotgun gets you punished — the dive attacks hit hard and the spread can’t touch a bird that far up. And even after a clean kill, plenty of players forget to grab and turn in the Albatross Head, which quietly blocks the route to Island 5 despite the boss being dead.
