After launching in China last month, the Huawei Honor 8C is all set to see the light in India in the coming week. Notably, since its debut, a variant of this phone, the Honor 8X, has sold over 6 million units globally, setting up an interesting stage for the 8C.
The handset has a massive 4,000mAh battery and a 6.26-inch Notch FullView Display as highlighting features. Moreover, it has AI tricks thrown into it, too.
Expectedly, the Honor 8C will grace the Indian market with two storage bundles: 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM+64GB internal storage. The one that was launched in China goes with only 4GB RAM but with two internal storage options such as 32GB and 64GB.
The Chinese version of Honor 8C sports a 6.26-inch HD+ TFT LCD IPS display with a tall 19:9 aspect ratio and 86.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. Pumping power from under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. Internal storage is further complemented with up to 256GB of expandable storage facility via microSD card.
Regarding optics, the Honor 8C mounts a dual rear-camera setup laid out in a vertical layout. The setup includes a 13MP autofocus primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP autofocus secondary black-and-white sensor with f/2.4 aperture. An 8MP selfie camera with fixed focus and f/2.4 aperture lies on the front. There is also an LED flash ensured for both front and rear camera modules.
The smartphone derives its fuel from a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device should be receiving the Android Pie update from Huawei sooner or later, perhaps in Q2 2019.
In China, the Honor 8C is priced at CNY 1,099 (INR 11, 800 approx.) for 4GB RAM+32GB storage model and CNY 1, 399 (INR 15,000 ) for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant. Considering that, it seems the Honor 8C’s price in India will hover around INR 15,000 mark.
The Honor 8C will be unveiled on November 29th as an Amazon India exclusive, which is when we’ll know about the pricing.
