Honor 10 android phone

A couple of weeks ago, Honor India opened Android 9 Pie beta program to users of the Honor 10 in the country. As of this writing, fans of the device are eagerly waiting for news on when the stable version starts rolling out.

Well, not this time guys, but to keep you going and with hints of what’s coming, there is a new EMUI 8.1.0.181 update rolling out with a new Android security patch for the month of October 2018 and Pie-inspired gestures for navigation.

The rolling-out EMUI update is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, the OS that powers the Honor 10 out of the box. So far, the update has been confirmed for models COL-AL10 and COL-TL10, but this doesn’t mean other variants won’t be receiving this security patch level.

The update also adds gestures to the device’s system navigation options, which can be enabled via Settings > System > System navigation. Keep in mind that when this option is enabled, your typical Home button will be no more.

The EMUI 8.1.0.181 update also comes with optimizations for camera performance and stability, so make sure you download and install it once the OTA download notification shows up. The wait for the OTA may take a few days, so be patient.
