It’s that time of the year when Google starts its Spring ‘clearing’, which means that older devices and services are ceased to exist. This year, Google Inbox has been the big name in the discontinuation list. But it’s not the only one.
If you jump over to the Google Store this morning, you will find that the older Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL handsets are completely absent from the Store. Looks like Google has decided to purge the sale of its last year’s flagships, which makes sense as the company wants to focus the market on its current phones, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. And they also have Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL coming up, soon. (Don’t blame us for the weirdo naming scheme, please!)
If you head over to the Google Pixel 2’s URL on Google Store, you will find that it automatically redirects to the Pixel 3 page.
While the discontinuation doesn’t come as a shock, as the original Pixels were also taken out of the Store this time around last year, it is still beckoning to mention how good the Pixel 2 still is! With its ground-breaking camera, the Pixel 2 sets are solid performers even today, despite the screen issues on the bigger one, the Pixel 2XL.
Alas, even though the sale of Pixel 2 handsets has come to an end, but you can still find accessories for the same on the Google Store. At least for now.
