Google Assistant’s “Tell Me a Story” feature is finally free from the confines of Home

Google Home tell me a story feature

To mark the upcoming National Tell a Story Day this weekend, Google is freeing up the Google Assistant’s “Tell Me a Story” feature from the confines of Google Home, making it available on smartphones too.

With this move, it means Google Assistant users will be able to take this feature with them to anywhere they go and not necessarily need the Google Home to take advantage of it.

By now you are asking what the “Tell Me a Story” feature is all about. Well, this is another of the many little extras you get with Google Assistant, where you can command it to tell you a story and it will gladly do so.

Before today, this feature was limited to Google Home, but the search giant is now opening up to our favorite Android devices too. iOS users are also receiving this feature not just here in the U.S., but also in the UK, Canada, Australia, and India.

Google says there are plenty of stories to be told, including some classics like Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood as well as stories about Mickey Mouse, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and so on. However, Google says you must install the latest version of Google Play Books for you to enjoy the new feature on your smartphone.
