How to Install Google Assistant on Galaxy S7 Edge running on Nougat (Android 7.0)

Even though Google Assistant is a Pixel phone exclusive feature, but third-party Android developers managed to port it to other Android devices as well.

We recently did a post on converting a Nexus phone into Pixel, it included a build.prop edit trick to enable Google Assistant by making your device look like a Pixel phone to Google.

Now that Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge also has an official Android 7.0 Nougat beta firmware available, you can enable Google Assistant on your Galaxy S7 as well.

User asad510 over at xda has posted a simple Assistant Enabler zip for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that you can flash from TWRP recovery and have Google Assistant installed on your phone complete with “Ok Google” hotword setup.

Your Galaxy S7 must have Magisk systemless framework installed though to get the Assistant Enabler zip working. To get Magisk, follow our step-by-step guide to install Magisk on any Android device.

Grab the Galaxy S7 Google Assistant enabler zip from the download link below and flash it to your device like you’d flash any other zip file using TWRP recovery.
