Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge gets unofficial Lineage OS 14.1 ROM

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has received the unofficial port to Lineage OS 14.1. For those of you who are unaware. Lineage OS is the company which will be taking control of CyanogenMod services from now on.

Since Lineage OS borrows the same source code as CyanogenMod, flashing this ROM should be the same as CM14.1 ROM. Head over here to check out the progress of official builds and so forth, if you’re not okay with installing unofficial builds.

If in case you want to stick to stock firmware on your Galaxy S7, you’ll be happy to know that the Samsung has now ended the Galaxy beta program, meaning the release date for the official OTA with Android 7.0/7.1.1 Nougat is really close.

First official Lineage OS builds are expected to be out by the first week of January with CM support officially coming to a halt on December 31st. The procedure for flashing this ROM should be the same as the rest of the custom ROMs out there. Before you proceed, take caution and more importantly take backups.
