Galaxy Pro Launched in UK. Good for Old-Gen Smartphone Android Wanting Users at best!

Samsung’s Galaxy series, powered by Google’s Android OS, seems to be ubiquitous whether you look from the point of price range, Android OS, country, or size. The Galaxy series covers every range, right from the entry-level budget android phones to high-end smartphone experience, ah, speaking of which Samsung’s about to release the Galaxy S II in UK on May 1. But there is one more phone for UK android users, Galaxy Pro, which in fact has just released. It’s available at 3 and can be taken home for £149.99 ($245 approx) on the pay-as-you-go basis while signing a contract costing £20 per month will make the Galaxy Pro free.

Here’s the spec details of the Galaxy Pro — which mimics the Droid Pro, both by name and ‘design and software’:

  • Android 2.2
  • 800 MHz processor
  • 2.8 inch QVGA landscape touchscreen display
  • 3.2 megapixel camera
  • 3G
  • Wi-Fi
  • GPS
  • 3.5 mm headset jack

It’s hard to recommend Galaxy Pro but it’s good for you only if you’re looking for a non-sliding qwerty keyboard phone on Android, very much styled like the older Nokia phones like E71 and still all-the-same blackberry phones. The phone features the 4 android OS specific keys (Menu, home, Back and Search in the order) right below the screen and there are others keys in abundance too right on the outset. While a 100% touchscreen phone is also easy to use and type (for bulk SMS, chat, etc.) but if you are in love with the idea of hard keys, Galaxy Pro is the pretty much the right phone for you. That it.
