New renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 have surfaced online and reveal its dimensions and design features. The renders are based upon the telling of an eyewitness who has details about the device.
According to the source, the Galaxy S8 lineup would not include an Edge variant. Instead, two models with different screen sizes, battery capacities and edge displays would be announced. As you can see in the renders above, there is no Home button and the display seems to be large and dual-edged. Instead of a larger curve, the Galaxy S8 would feature lesser curves to minimize unwanted palm touches.
Samsung would most likely place the Home Button and fingerprint reader at the back of the device, next to the camera module. We’ve heard of this before, and it looks like it is going to happen. The source also tells that Samsung may not get rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the Galaxy S8. Recently, we learned that the company could launch a pair of wireless earphones alongside the S8.
The report mentions that the device looks similar to the LG G5, at least from the front. It has been reported before that the Galaxy S8 would come in two sizes. One would be the regular S8, while the other would feature a larger display and be called the Galaxy S8 Plus. The Plus model could even sport a dual camera system.
Only time will tell. We don’t know the exact date of the announcement, but it could happen at the end of February or the beginning of March. The report also goes on to state that Samsung could announce a new Galaxy Tab on February 26.
