Fossil launched two new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches — Q Venture and Q Explorist – in March. Branded as Fossil’s slimmest hybrid smartwatch case to date, both the devices are up for pre-order now.
Priced in a range of $255-$275, the Fossil Q Venture and the Fossil Q Explorist work with phones running Android 4.3 and higher, and iOS 9 and higher. You can grab these wearable from Fossil’s online store.
Larger of the two, the Fossil Q Explorist comes with either Stainless Steel or Leather strap. The former carries a price tag of $275 while the latter will set you back by $255. Similarly, the Fossil Q Venture also is available with either Stainless Steel or Leather band priced at $275 and $255 respectively.
The design and size is what really sets these two new smartwatches apart which exhibit similar internal specs. The Q Explorist sports a rugged look while the Q Venture has an aesthetic design with embedded gemstones. Another difference between the two is programmable buttons on the right side of the Q Explorist, which are missing in the Q Venture. But both of them have a digital crown on the right side of the wearable.
The Fossil Q Explorist sports a 44 mm diameter display and 12.6 mm thick case while the Fossil Q Venture features a 42 mm display and 11.5 mm case. Both carry Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 4GB of memory and 512MB RAM. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, but sadly GPS or NFC seems to be missing.
