The Essential Phone is now official after the company listed it at its website, essential.com. The company is retailing the unlocked variant for $699 and the support page has now confirmed that the device will work on any carrier, be it Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, etc.

The fact that the company is aiming to release the Essential Phone in only single variant for whole world shows its dedication to making changes in today’s smartphone ecosystem. That’s what OnePlus does too, something which we will see in action again with the OnePlus 5.

Traditionally, OEMs used to design a different variant for each carrier as per the latter’s requirement, but of late, that has changed, and Essential Phone is one such global phone that will work with every network on earth.

The Essential website even lists the following: Unlocked phone. All carriers. No traps. 128GB. Thereby confirming Andy Rubin’s purpose for the company, which is to not compromise on anything and deliver a complete hardware and software experience.
