Oct. 17th is here and as promised, Google has released Android 5.0 Lollipop SDK and preview images for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013. You can head over to the download page over here to download and install Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 right away. The Android 5.0 preview images can be installed via Fastboot just like you install Factory images on your Nexus device.
The preview images are still being called Android L preview images, but with a new updated build “LPX13D” with all the final APIs and the brand new Android 5.0 Lollipop update that Google announced day before yesterday. The names of the new preview images are as follows:
- Nexus 5: hammerhead-lpx13d-preview-f7596f51.tgz
- Nexus 7 2013 (WiFi): razor-lpx13d-preview-ae4f461f.tgz
In case you don’t know, Android 5.0 Lollipop update brings a whole lot of new features and a brand new user interface based on Material design.
The Google developers YouTube channel has also uploaded a video showcasing the beautiful interface of Android 5.0 Lollipop and a variety of new features. Take a look:
UPDATE: It seems the download links for the Android 5.0 Lollipop preview images aren’t working yet. But that should be a matter of few minutes, keep checking the download page.
