If you are an RPG fan then you have probably heard about Genshin Impact. It is the new anime-style RPG in town that seems to be taking the world by storm. The introductions of new characters, rotating event banners, and the ability to control who enters your world in multiplayer are some of the features responsible for this popularity.
Genshin Impact allows you to create a team of characters and customize them according to your liking. You can equip items and artifacts to your characters which increases their stats and helps you customize your team according to your play style and attack style. You are also awarded items called Sigils each time you complete a side quest or task in Genshin Impact. Let’s take a quick look at them.

What are sigils?
Sigils are region Insignias in Genshin Impact that are awarded to players alongside other items when completing side quests and in-game tasks. You can also get sigils in-game when opening chests or when praying to the statue of seven in Teyvat.
Sigils are a secondary type of currency in Genshin Impact that can be exchanged at souvenir shops for various other items. Sigils are classified into two categories based on their relevant regions. Let’s take a quick look at them.

Types of sigils
Anemo Sigils
Anemo sigils are native to Mondstadt and can only be exchanged in the Mondstadt souvenir shop called ‘With wind comes glory’. This shop is owned by NPC Marjorie.
Geo Sigils
Geo Sigiils are native to Liyue and can only be exchanged in the Liyue souvenir shop. The Liyue souvenir shop is owned by NPC Xingxi and is called the Mingxing Jewelry shop.
Does the souvenir shop reset?
Each souvenir shop in Teyvat is stocked with a certain number of items with most of them having exchange limits. This is why having a reset timer in this shop would be great for players as it would allow multiple exchanges and give you the ability to grind for certain objects that you might need to enhance your team.
As far as current gameplay suggests, the souvenir shops and their contents are not reset after you have exchanged them. This means that after you have obtained all the items that the shop has to offer, your only option will be to exchange your remaining sigils for ‘Mora’ which is not a pretty bad deal in itself.
What is Mora?
Mora is another in-game currency in Genshin Impact which is accepted in the entire continent of Teyvat. It can be used to purchase various in-game items and on rare occasions can even be exchanged with other NPCs.
Once you have run out of things in souvenir shops, you will still be able to exchange your sigils for Mora. There is no exchange limit on Mora exchange which means that you can avail of this benefit indefinitely.
Why souvenir shops do not reset?
Souvenir shops are meant for novice and new players in the game that are unable to get items and increase their stats by defeating bosses. This way you can obtain valuable items through the souvenir shops to increase your stats which should help you defeat bosses much more easily.
The loot dropped by these bosses will rival what you get in exchange from souvenir shops and after a certain point in the game, it will be more lucrative for you to beat bosses rather than exchange your sigils. This is why miHoYo has resorted to exchange limits and no restock for souvenir shops.
This way they can provide new players with incentives and alternate ways to progress through the game while ensuring that veteran players aren’t able to exploit souvenir shops for higher upgrades that affect the gameplay.
What is the cost of each item in the souvenir shop?
Here is a comprehensive look at each item that you can get in the souvenir shop as well as its cost. This should help you plan your purchases and make the most out of your sigil collection.
