Does iPhone 14 have Always on Display? Yes and No!

Apple event has been the talk of the town thanks to a plethora of new products and updates to Apple products. We have new iPhones, a new Apple watch, and a new pair of Airpods.

iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of the iPhone from Apple and it comes with a variety of features, some that were rumored and others that weren’t expected at all. Among these rumored features was the inclusion of Always on display.

So does the iPhone 14 finally have an Always On Display? Let’s find out!

Do the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have Always On Display?

No, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus do not have an Always On Display. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max do have an Always On Display.

The new Always On Display in the iPhone 14 Pro models allows you to view your lock screen information at glance. This includes the time, date, widgets, and notifications on your lock screen.

Your widgets will update in real-time and notifications will continue to stack as they come in based on your preferences in the Settings app.

The Always On Display will be turned off and your lock screen will go completely dark whenever your device is face down in your pocket. This will help conserve and improve battery life.

The new pro models also feature a 30% smaller notch at the top that comes with a new feature called Dynamic Island. It allows the OS to dynamically expand and resize your notch depending on any live activities on your device. You can then interact with this new information depending on the app with the live activity.

Sadly these features are exclusive to iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The iPhone 14 & 14 Plus won’t have an Always On Display or the Dynamic Island.

We hope this post helped you learn about Always On Display in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. If you have any more questions, feel free to drop them in the comments below.

The display dims when you lock your device or leave it idle. Always-On display also uses multiple coprocessors in the A16 Bionic to refresh the display using minimal power. Always-On display is on by default on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
