One of the biggest additions in Version 1.09.00 is the new controller remapping feature. Players can now customize controller inputs, giving them more flexibility over how they experience the game.
The update also adds approximately 30 species of small animals that can now be registered as pets. Alongside this, new animations have been added for picking up and putting down certain pets, making interactions feel more natural.
Oongka and Damiane have also received new skills in this patch. These skills use the same input command as Kliff’s “Blinding Flash Finisher,” which activates through a heavy attack while using Blinding Flash.

Farming has received a useful quality-of-life change, as seeds can now be assigned to quick slots and used directly from there. This should make planting faster and reduce the amount of time spent navigating menus.
Several content-related fixes are included as well. The update resolves an issue where checking colors during dyeing and character customization could become difficult because of nearby lighting. Legendary fish can no longer be donated, and issues preventing some completed knowledge challenges from registering have been fixed.
The developers have also fixed problems with Pond Management, including situations where players could not enter the mode and a bug where controls stopped responding if a character died after opening the Pond Management menu while taking damage. Bears have also been adjusted so they no longer fail when attempting to eat fish dropped on the ground.

Combat adjustments include fixes for Kliff’s abilities. Evasive Kick now correctly consumes Spirit while unarmed, and Blinding Flash Finisher can no longer be used without enough Spirit. Oongka’s Quaking Fury has also received a stagger meter adjustment.
Several tool-related problems have been corrected. The Magic Scythe now works properly when the inventory is full, the Scythe can be used correctly in safe zones, and the Mining Knuckledrill issue while clinging to walls has been fixed.
The user interface has also received multiple improvements. The dispatch UI now prioritizes comrades who have the required mission skills by showing them at the top. Repeated missions are now clearly marked with a “Repeating Mission” label.
Other UI fixes include corrections for missing QTE input icons after changing controls, camp resources incorrectly showing zero comrades, cursor behavior while examining documents with keyboard and mouse, and freezes after returning to the game from the title screen following certain errors.

On the graphics side, PC players receive a fix for distant object shadows not displaying correctly when the Raytraced Sun/Moon Light Shadows option is enabled. On Mac, the same setting has been fixed so it applies properly.
Damiane receives extra fixes targeting performance and animations. The update fixes an issue where repeatedly attacking sanctum cores with element-based attacks could stack effects and reduce performance. Unnatural evasion animations after falling from high places have also been improved.
Overall, Crimson Desert Version 1.09.00 is a major quality-of-life update that expands customization, adds more pet options, improves farming, and fixes a wide range of gameplay issues across all supported platforms.
