Control Other Devices with Bluetooth using BlueCtrl Android App. Requires Root Access, Btw!

Now here’s a handy new application that people should find quite useful. BlueCtrl is an open source app for Android that lets you control devices that support bluetooth by using the touchscreen and keyboard on your Android device as input devices. Nice, right? It can let you control different devices such as your iPad or your Playstation 3 gaming console, and even your computer. Available for Blackberry devices for quite some time, BlueCtrl has now been released on Android.

According to the developer, the app has been tested with the following operating systems:

  • Android
  • iOS
  • Linux (Fedora, Ubuntu…)
  • Mac OS X
  • Playstation 3

A bad news however. At this point, on most Android devices, the app cannot be used with Microsoft Windows operating systems due to a conflict with the Android Bluetooth input device active on Android. Well, I’m not quite sure what that means, but I sure hope this can be sorted out soon, as Windows is the primary OS for quite a lot of people.

BlueCtrl is surely going to appeal to a lot of people seeing as how useful and fun it can be to use. Head over to the original development page to download BlueCtrl and to find out more about it. Go ahead and try it out, and let us know about your experience in the comments below.
