BlackBerry PRIV at Verizon receiving May Security patch update

Where some people are calling it a miracle from Verizon, others are quite ecstatic about the fact that Verizon was fast to push May security patch update for BlackBerry PRIV devices just a month after it released the April security patch, considering Verizon has a history of delaying update because of the extra testing it does.

So, yes, if you are a BlackBerry PRIV user with Verizon, do check your phone for the update. The OTA based update that brings the May security patch arrives as a version number AAL425. To recall, the previous version that applied the April security patch was AAK687 while AAJ926 released in March applied the March security patch.

The latest update, which weighs around 180MB, fixes security vulnerabilities along with few bug fixes. Additionally, the update includes various other under-the-hood stability improvements as well as other minor system enhancements too.
