BlackBerry, the Canadian smartphone vendor has started rolling out a new update to its PRIV handset which installs the June security patch on the smartphone.

The update weighs in around 130MB in size and is being pushed over the air (OTA) PRIV users. As usual, the update is available only for the handsets that have been purchased from the Shop BlackBerry.

In case, you’ve purchased your BlackBerry PRIV from carriers or other retailers, you might have to wait until they officially roll out the update.

As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

Before clicking the download button, ensure to back up your data which will come in handy if things go wrong. Also, switch to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the update to avoid additional data charges!
