AT&T is rolling out new software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, and the Galaxy S6 Active. The updates are incoming over-the-air and bring some new improvements to the device.
All three devices are getting the latest December Android security patch with this update. Along with that, users will notice an improvement in network performance. The update also adds support for new Mobile Hotspot APN and includes a fix for the BlueBorne exploit.
The software build number for the Galaxy S6 is G920AUCU6EQK3, for the Galaxy S6 Edge it’s G925AUCU6EQK3, and for the Galaxy S6 Active, it’s G890AUCU6DQK3. All the updates are based on Android 7.0.1 Nougat, but it is possible that an Oreo update may be available in the future.
Samsung Galaxy Oreo update release date
We recommend that you download these updates using a Wi-Fi connection, as all of them are over 400MB in size. Samsung is currently testing the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but an exact release date for the stable software isn’t known. We may have to wait until the end of January 2018 for the Oreo update.
