A new software update is available for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. The update brings a very important patch to the device, and is available over-the-air right now.

Those with a Galaxy S6 Active should immediately install the update as soon as it arrives. In this update, Samsung has provided fixes for the Blueborne malware and the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. Alongside that, the October Android security patch will also be installed.

The update weighs around 60MB and carries the build number G890AUCS6DQJ1. It is still based on Android 7.0.1 Nougat. The Galaxy S6 devices will not be getting the Android Oreo update, unfortunately. Samsung has also released a similar update for the Galaxy A5 2017, giving it the November security patch.

You can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > About > Software update on your device.
