ARCHOS is going in with all guns blazing to capture a piece of the Android tablet market. Along with the 8-inch ARCHOS 80 XS tablet that they announced today, also on display was the ARCHOS 97 XS, the 9.7-inch sibling of their ARCHOS tablet series.
The ARCHOS 97 XS is similar to the 101 XS that the company released back in September, with its specs including a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1 GB RAM, 9.7-inch display with 1024×768 resolution, and while it was shown to be running Android 4.0, it will most probably be launched with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Like the 101 XS and 80 XS, the 97 XS will also get an optional “Magnetic Coverboard” keyboard dock.
The 97 XS is expected to be released some time in December, for $299, with an additional $49 for the keyboard dock. Stay tuned for more details on the 97 XS, including detailed specs and pictures. Meanwhile, check it out in action in the video below.
