After weeks of beta testing, Android 9 Pie stable is now rolling out to the Huawei Honor 8X in multiple markets across the globe.
We’ve received tips from our Indian and Asia-Pacific readers who have already received the OTA update to Android Pie. The software is arriving as version 9.0.1.156 and installs quite a lot as part of the EMUI 9.0 update.
The full firmware version for India is 9.0.1.156 (SP52C675E2R1P1) while Asia-Pacific is receiving version 9.0.1.156 (SP54C636E2R1P1) whereas the Middle East is receiving version 9.0.1.156 (SP53C185E3R2P1). All three updates are quite heavy, so be sure to get a stable Wi-Fi connection before you begin downloading the update.
The update brings a new intuitive design, nature-inspired alarms and ringtones, illustrated functionality, simplified settings, smart shopping using AR, password vault for keeping passwords safe, Huawei Share 3.0, faster launch times and so on.
With the official rollout having begun in multiple markets across Asia and the Middle East, it shouldn’t be long before the rest of the globe gets the same update.
