In May 2018, Canada’s Rogers carrier revealed that Android 8.0 Oreo is “coming soon” to the LG G6 and LG Q6, but up to now, it’s only the former that has since been upgraded to Oreo. Back then, we mentioned that Rogers’ careful choice of words was inevitable and now that the device has yet to see Oreo arrive, we are quite justified.
Maybe to make things a little clearer, another Canadian carrier, Fido, has also revealed that the LG Q6 will receive an update to Android Oreo in September. Still, we don’t have an exact date, but September is only a few weeks from now.

Whether this same “September” release date will also hold for users of the LG Q6 on Rogers is still unclear, but looks certain is that Android Oreo may arrive on the phone a little earlier in markets outside Canada, especially in the home country of South Korea.
