The Ambergris Key treasure at (30, 157) is the Corozal Treasure Map reward, found by swimming through Ambergris Key’s underwater tunnel, resurfacing in the ruins, then turning left into the small cave before climbing farther inside.
This buried chest is easy to miss because Ambergris Key also contains a separate treasure map that points somewhere else. For the (30, 157) chest, you want the map picked up in Corozal, then the underwater route into the ruins at Ambergris Key.

KEY!The Ambergris Key (30, 157) dig spot is tied to the Treasure Map from Corozal. It is not the treasure map found inside Ambergris Key itself, so make sure the clue you are solving sends you to 30, 157.
The Reales payout varies across player listings: most put it at 2,000 Reales, while one lists 2,400 Reales. The Corozal map pickup coordinate also appears as both (11, 242) and (31, 230), but the actual pickup description is consistent: check the north or northeast beach near the campfire and corpse.
Route from shore to the Ambergris Key cave

Travel to Ambergris Key, or sail there if you have not opened fast travel yet. From the shoreline, get into the water facing the rocky opening ahead, then line yourself up with the center of that visible gap before going under.
Once submerged, look for the large jellyfish group. That cluster is your best sign that you are on the right underwater path, because the swim through the cave is longer than it first looks.
Keep swimming through the tunnel until you surface inside the ruins. As soon as you come out of the water, do not head deeper into the ruins first; the treasure is in the left-side cave nook close to where you resurface.
Turn left as soon as you resurface in the ruins; the dig prompt is in the small cave ahead, before the climb into the higher Ambergris Key area.

Wrong turns near the Ambergris Key ruins
The most common mistake is climbing too far into the smuggler or pirate area after resurfacing. The (30, 157) dig spot is before that climb, tucked into the left-side cave or dead-end nook near the first ruins area.
Another easy miss is searching the larger ruins chamber too early. If you are moving toward higher platforms, enemies, or the deeper smuggler den route, you have likely gone past the chest.
Reset your position by returning to the spot where you surfaced from the underwater tunnel. Face the nearby ruins, turn immediately left, enter the small cave, and look for the dig prompt on the floor ahead.
Ambergris Key map points to Misteriosa

The treasure map found inside Ambergris Key is a different objective. That map sends you to Misteriosa (271, 178), not to the Ambergris Key (30, 157) dig spot from the Corozal map.
If your clue is pointing to Misteriosa, you are solving the Ambergris Key map. If it points to 30, 157, return to the underwater route and left-side cave in Ambergris Key.
