Palworld 1.0 completely changed how players optimize Pals thanks to the Pal Surgery Table, removing much of the tedious breeding required for standard passive skills. However, many players are confused about whether the new Rainbow Passive Skills can be implanted directly.
The short answer is not all of them.
Current testing from the community, the Palworld Wiki, and developer documentation shows that standard Implant Modules do not allow players to freely add every Rainbow passive, particularly the exclusive endgame and World Tree traits. Instead, Rainbow skills must generally be acquired from naturally obtained Pals before being bred into your ideal Pal.

How the Surgery Table works
The Surgery Table lets you replace an existing passive with another passive that you have unlocked through Implant Modules. Instead of endlessly breeding for common passives like Artisan, Musclehead, Serenity, or Runner, you can simply install them onto an already perfect Pal.
Implant Modules are unlocked from different activities, including Bounty Officers and the Arena Vendor, while each operation costs Gold depending on the passive’s rarity.
Unfortunately, Rainbow-exclusive passive skills are currently not included in the normal implant pool, making them significantly rarer than every other passive tier.
How to get Rainbow Passive Skills
Instead of purchasing Implant Modules, you’ll need to obtain these naturally through endgame gameplay:
- Unlock the World Tree region by progressing through Palworld 1.0’s endgame.
- Catch high-level Pals found throughout the World Tree biome.
- Hatch Large Ominous Eggs, which also have a chance to contain Pals with World Tree passives.
- Breed those Pals until the Rainbow passive is inherited by your desired Pal.
- Use the Surgery Table afterward to finish the remaining passive slots with standard Implant Modules like Artisan, Serenity, Runner, or Musclehead.

At the moment, no—not through the standard Implant Module system.

The best way to build perfect Pals in 1.0
The optimal endgame strategy is now much easier than before. Instead of breeding four perfect passive skills from scratch, players should first hunt a Pal with the desired Rainbow passive, breed that trait onto the target Pal, and then use the Surgery Table to implant the remaining meta passives.
