How to Get World Tree and Ominous Eggs in Palworld 1.0

Ominous Eggs are rare World Tree-only eggs added in the 1.0 update. Their biggest value is not just the hatch itself, but the special World Tree passive that can come with the Pal, because that passive keeps certain World Tree resource nodes from vanishing while the Pal is in your active party.

That turns World Tree farming from a short Holy Water run into a repeatable resource route. Once you know the egg spots, mark them, reset them, and hatch until you get a useful passive, you can start stockpiling Mythical Wood, Paloxite, Paloxite, and World Tree Holy Water much more reliably.

What Ominous Eggs do in Palworld

Ominous Eggs appear inside the World Tree region and hatch into Pals that can carry unique World Tree passives. These passives include effects such as letting World Tree resources not vanish when approached, which is the part that matters for farming.

They can look similar to Dark Eggs at a glance, but Ominous Eggs have a darker shell with glowing purple-pink markings and an aura. Some spawns may appear as a normal egg, an Ominous Egg, a Large Ominous Egg, or no egg at all, so the important habit is marking every fixed egg spot you find.

How to farm Ominous Eggs and World Tree resources in Palworld

Use this route to check known egg spawns, reset them, hatch for a World Tree passive, then farm resources with the passive active.

In single-player, restart the game for a chance to reroll the spawn into an Ominous Egg; on a server, wait a few hours for the spawn reset before checking again.

Mark the first location

Add the first egg spot to your map so you can return to it on every farming run.

Check the nearby second egg spot

This fixed spot can roll as a normal egg, an Ominous Egg, or nothing, so mark it and revisit it regularly.

Head west near Jetragon

Move to the west side of the World Tree near Jetragon to check two more possible egg spawns in the same area.

Look inside the small hole

The third egg spot is tucked inside a small hole, so check the opening closely instead of flying past it.

Check beside the nearby tree

The fourth egg spot sits beside a tree in the same west-side area, with an aggressive Jormuntide nearby.

Climb above Jormuntide

Go up to the ruined castle above Jormuntide and search around the broken bastions for the fifth known egg spot.

Hatch the Ominous Egg

Put the egg in an Egg Incubator and hatch it for a Pal with one World Tree passive skill.

Put the passive Pal in your party

A Pal such as Wumpo Botan Ignis with Hermit Sage works as an example, but the important part is the World Tree passive, not the species.

Gather Mythical Wood with the passive active

Bring the Pal while exploring so Mythical Wood can be gathered without consuming or removing the node.

Watch for the aura cue

Your character glows with an aura when a Pal with a World Tree trait is active in your party.

Mine Paloxite repeatedly

With the passive active, Paloxite nodes can be mined without disappearing, which makes late-game stockpiling much easier.

Collect from hallowed springs

Each hallowed spring gives 10 World Tree Holy Water and can heal and revive your party.

Clear World Tree enemies

Defeat enemies in the World Tree region while exploring, since they can also drop World Tree Holy Water.

Mark the dome spring

A second hallowed spring is hidden inside a dome, and marking it gives you another easy 10 World Tree Holy Water on farming runs.

Known Ominous Egg spawn route in the World Tree

Ominous Egg spawn points are fixed, but the result at each point is RNG. That means a spot can be empty, hold a normal egg, hold an Ominous Egg, or roll a Large Ominous Egg. The correct play is to mark each spot and make them part of a repeat route.

These are the known spots shown in route order. Treat them as reliable places to check, not as a claim that every possible World Tree egg spawn has been found.

Ominous Egg passives to look for

Every Ominous Egg hatch in the run produced a Pal with one World Tree passive skill. The species can vary, so focus on the passive line. A Wumpo Botan Ignis with Hermit Sage is one example, but it is not a guaranteed hatch.

The farming effect is the reason these passives matter. Some of them also have stat tradeoffs, such as Hermit Sage giving +50% Sanity depletion rate and -20% work speed, but the World Tree gathering effect is what makes the Pal worth keeping in your active party.

Holy Water farming versus passive Pal farming

World Tree Holy Water is the short-term way to gather World Tree materials before you have the right Pal. Use it when you are first exploring, when you still need resources immediately, or when you have not hatched a Pal with a World Tree passive yet.

The long-term setup is a Pal with a valid World Tree passive in your active party. When that setup is working, your character gains a visible aura, and you can gather resources such as Mythical Wood and Paloxite without the node being consumed or removed.

World Tree resources worth farming

The farming value comes from resources that normally vanish or are limited without protection. With World Tree Holy Water active, or with a valid passive Pal in your party, you can interact with key nodes without losing them after one gather.

Mythical Wood and Paloxite are the main targets shown in the route, with Paloxite standing out as a major late-game crafting resource. Paloxite, Ancient Relics, Radiant Gems, and World Tree Holy Water are also part of the wider World Tree farming loop.

World Tree Holy Water farming

Before you hatch a passive Pal, hallowed springs are your main World Tree Holy Water source. Each spring gives 10 World Tree Holy Water per collection, and springs can also heal and revive your entire party, making them valuable safety points during exploration.

One spring is found along the route, and another is hidden inside a dome, which makes it easy to miss. Mark both when you find them, then clear nearby World Tree enemies as you travel, since enemies in the region can also drop World Tree Holy Water.

Two marked springs give you an easy 20 World Tree Holy Water each farming run. That is enough to keep early gathering moving while you work toward a permanent passive Pal setup.

Mistakes that slow Ominous Egg and World Tree farming

The first mistake is confusing Ominous Eggs with regular Dark Eggs. Look for the glowing purple-pink markings and aura, then mark the spawn location even if the current roll is not the egg you want.

The second mistake is flying around the World Tree without a marked route. Egg points are fixed, so random searching wastes time; repeated checks of known spawns are much better than roaming until something appears.

The third mistake is trying to mine or chop World Tree resources without World Tree Holy Water or a Pal carrying a valid World Tree passive. Not every World Tree Pal automatically has that passive, and spending all your Holy Water before setting up a passive Pal will slow your long-term farming hard.
