One of the most exciting aspects of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the impactful, branching narrative at the heart of the game. At regular intervals throughout Valhalla’s rich and nigh-grimdark storyline, you’re going to be presented with a few serious choices that directly impact the ending of the game. One such choice comes early on when players are asked a question regarding the fundamentals of Viking finance.
Take or Leave Resources in AC Valhalla?
Early on, players are presented with one such choice in the Seas of Fate quest when asked to either take or leave resources behind before setting out for England.
After Sigurd is done firing everyone up about cutting the head off a snake called the English Monarchy and setting sail for England, a discussion is had about what to do with the loot obtained from the Kjotve’s raid — take them with you to help finance your campaign against Harald, or leave the resources and pull yourself up by your own bootstraps when you land there.
Eivor wants to take them. Sigurd wants to leave them for Sigurd Senior. What do you do?

What to Consider (Spoiler Free)
If you do decide to take the supplies, you’ll have an extra 400 with you when you land in England, giving you a total of 700 supplies. If you choose not to take them and leave the resources for Styrbjorn, you’ll come ashore with 300. These supplies are used to fortify defenses and beef up your encampment and do come in handy early-game.
But what do you give up for those extra supplies?
Well, perhaps nothing. It all comes to a head at a point later in the game, when your overall relationship with Sigurd decides whether or not he’ll choose to help you at a key moment. This means looking back at all of the choices you made, and how he feels about them. Burn him enough times, and you’ll be on your own when that moment of judgment ultimately arrives.

Our Recommendation: Leave the Resources
While an extra 400 supplies don’t hurt, by the time you’ve advanced a little more through the game, gathering more supplies becomes dead simple, and you won’t be shaking your fist at the sky and ruing the day you chose to forego the 400 back in Norway.
That said, you could still take the resources and never pay a price for it — it all depends on how much Sigurd has against you when that key moment comes. What you don’t want is for this decision to be the one that puts you over the barrier — the 400 supplies isn’t worth not having Sigurd on your side when it comes.
So it’s up to you. We recommend you skip out on that security blanket early on and use your own Viking-hustle to forge your own path in England, but know that if you do decide to take it it’s probably better to err on Sigurd’s good side in coming choices.
