Snapchat is the promised land when it comes to AR filters. Since it opened its doors to user-created effects and filters, the list of these filters is never-ending. In this article, we will cover a new filter that was recently introduced that lets you animate your face! Here is everything you need to know about it.
What is the Cartoon Face filter on Snapchat?
The Cartoon face filter is an official filter introduced by Snapchat. Official filters are an archive of all the filters that Snapchat has launched over the years. Unlike other AR filters, the Cartoon Face filter can be customized to create a pseudo-life-like version of your face.
Since big blue eyes are such a rage, the filter lets you do just that and more. You can change different aspects of your cartoonized face like your eyebrows, eyelashes, etc. The filter is currently only available on Snapchat.

How to use the Cartoon Face filter on Snapchat?
Since the Cartoon Face filter is an official Snapchat filter, it will be available on the camera page itself (for now). Follow this simple guide below to animate your face with the filter.
Launch Snapchat on your phone. Now tap the filters button in the bottom right beside the record button.
Now scroll to the Cartoon Face filter. If you cannot find it, tap the ‘Explore’ button in the bottom right corner and search for Cartoon Face.
Point your camera at a human face. Boom, you should see the filter in action.

How to customize the Cartoon Face filter on Snapchat
You can customize different aspects of the Cartoon Face filter before clicking a photo.
Eye shape: This offers you two shapes (or sizes) of your animated eyes. Tap the button to change the setting.
Eyelashes: You can adjust how long you would like your animated eyelashes to be. There are three sizes to choose from.
Eyebrows: This offers you different shapes of animated eyebrows. Tap the button to peruse through each shape. There are six eyebrow shapes to choose from.
Eye color: This is probably the best part. You can change the color of your eyes with this setting. There are seven colors to choose from!
Once you are satisfied with your animated face you can send it out as a photo or video too. The eyes will animate as you blink them. This filter even works if you have your glasses on.
Can you use the filter on videos from your Gallery?
Unfortunately, Snapchat filters can only be used on recorded videos or photos taken using the Snapchat camera. While Snapchat does allow you to upload videos and images from your Gallery, you cannot use the Snapchat effects and filters on them.
