Genshin Impact’s 6.1 livestream is concluded, and along with an insane amount of content, came the confirmation for the thing players have been looking forward to the most.
The character banners for Genshin Impact’s 6.1, or Luna 2 as termed by the developers, have been revealed. HoYoVerse’s anime-styled RPG is nearing the end of its Version 6.0 (Luna 1) update, which has introduced the new region of Nord-Krai, along with new 5-Star characters, Flins and Lauma, which have been added to Genshin’s ever-growing roster of characters.
There had been tons of never-ending leaks in the past few weeks that offered us an insight into what we could expect from the upcoming version, but now the official livestream has confirmed all the details.
Genshin Impact 6.1 - Release date
At the very end of the Genshin Impact 6.1 livestream, HoYoVerse revealed that the update will be dropping on October 22, 2025.
Players should probably start tying up any progression that they have left this update, conclude all the events, finish up their battle pass, and claim the 5th Anniversary rewards provided by Version 6.0.
Version 6.1 maintenance will commence on October 21 at 12:30 AM IST. And for those who could not get their hands on Flins yet, they can also keep trying their luck since it is the last chance to obtain him before he disappears.
Genshin Impact 6.1 - New Character & Banners
Phase 1
HoYoVerse has showcased their new playable Dendro Catalyst user, Nefer, a character described as a Main DPS. She is dropping into Genshin Impact in this upcoming update. You can find more about Nefer and her kit here.
Along with Nefer, comes the former Hydro Archon and one of the most powerful and flexible support units in the game, Furina, who will also make an appearance. Furina is an exceptional off-field Hydro damage dealer and a massive team-wide damage buffer with her Elemental Burst. Her utility and immense offensive contributions make her a must-pull for nearly any account seeking a broken character.

Phase 2
The second half of the update brings two highly sought after character reruns, which are the Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino, and the Geo Archon, Zhongli.
Arlecchino, a Pyro Polearm main DPS, returns to burn the battlefield to ashes with her Bond of Life mechanic. She has an aggressive kit that makes her one of the most exciting on-field damage dealers in the game, great for players seeking a power Pyro DPS.
Accompanying her is Zhongli, who remains arguably the game's best defensive support. He provides an indestructible shield that makes those Hilichurls look like pebble throwing toddlers by nullifying most of the incoming damage and reduces enemies' elemental resistance and is a perfect fit for players with an aggressive playstyle.
