We knew for long that Asus was carrying a Nougat beta program of its own too, but we never got a chance to see it in real, in a screenshot or something. Well, today, that changes.
We just found some evidence of the Asus Nougat update in action on the Zenfone 3, with the screenshots revealing the Settings screen and the quick setting toggles view. The ‘About device’ menu does show Android 7.0 written, while the new ZenUI from the quick toggles in another proof this is Nougat sweetness right there.
Asus is still recruiting Zenfone 3 user for its Android 7 beta testing, till December 31 actually, while it will continue the program — pushing OTAs, gathering feedback, etc stuff — until January 31. Which leads us to believe the Zenfone 3 Nougat update would arrive in only February 2017 for the regular Zenfone 3, while other editions of the ZF3 could have to wait a bit longer.
Asus is also preparing a new camera-dedicated device in Zenfone 3 Zoom, which recently cleared FCC and is all set to woo the mobile camera fans with its dual camera setup at the back, something that’s new to Asus, while is expected to feature on next year’s flagship devices like HTC 11, LG G6, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, etc.
