We had previously reported the occasion when Xiaomi released the MIUI 10 beta for the Mi 8 Lite phone. Now, we’re glad to break the news that a stable MIUI 10 version is now rolling out for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite but it’s not based on Android Pie if you were hoping for that as the update runs Android 8.1 Oreo underneath the beautiful MIUI 10 skin.

The changelog mentions several changes to your phone’s UI including the addition of full-screen gestures that is aimed at replacing buttons for a faster and more convenient operation. It boasts of letting content hog the limelight in a full-screen experience.

The OTA update runs at about 423MB — although this may vary depending on the current version on your phone — and to get it, you can try this.

Tap on ‘Settings’, followed by ‘About phone’, then ‘System update’ and finally ‘Check for updates’. Once the update is visible, tap on ‘Download’ and then on ‘Install now’ once the download is complete. Your phone will reboot upon successful installation and you’ll be notified of the same.
