Recently Instagram and Snapchat added a new feature to their Story that lets you add an external link. The feature is extremely useful and one wonders why it was missing for such a long time.
However, forget about Insta and Snapchat, our beloved WhatsApp now allows adding links in the Status. Earlier today, WhatsApp rolled out the Text only status feature to versions above 2.17.297, well, the link feature is part of that. You can add links to Text-Only status updates and not to the regular status update.

- Tap the floating Pencil icon at the bottom.
- Enter your URL where it says, “Type a status”. You can change background color or font of the text by using the icons present at the bottom.
- Tap Send button (Green floating icon).
