The Coronavirus pandemic is easily one of the worst things humankind has ever witnessed. But we have also had the good fortune of looking forward to some of the little things. And ‘Alba: A Wildlife Adventure Game’ — an upcoming title from Ustwo Games is certainly one to look forward to.
Like video calling, gaming — traditional, online, and over Zoom — has also seen a massive surge since the start of the pandemic. With almost all outdoor activities restricted, many are turning to their device of choice — PC, console, or handheld — to keep themselves sane. Game developers, too, are making the most of the situation by teasing about the games in development.
Today, we’ll take a look at the upcoming cross-platform video game by one of the most respected independent developers — Ustwo Games — around, and tell you what you need to know about the launch.

What is ‘Alba: A Wildlife Adventure’ Game?
On 20th July, Ustwo Games dropped a micro teaser of their upcoming venture, a new game called ‘Alba: A Wildlife Adventure’. The teaser shows off one of the potential lead characters on a cliff, tipping her hat, overlooking a luscious landscape.
Going by the title of the game and the items displayed in the teaser — water bottle, a half-eaten sandwich, notebook, bird-spotting book, some pictures, newspaper, DSLR, and backpack — we can safely predict it to be an environment-oriented adventure game, which would revolve around two girls who have co-founded a wildlife league.
As the teaser is only half a minute long, there’s nothing much to go on about. But it’s certain to be a fun adventure game that’d ask the players to find and spot rare birds/animals/items through a set of challenges.
Why should you look forward to ‘Alba: A Wildlife Adventure’ game?
Ustwo offers a combination of beautiful visual detail and immersive gaming experience that is not conventionally expected of puzzle games. In fact, after experiencing the therapeutic and relaxing notes of the Monument Valley series and Land’s End we have come to hope and expect the same from Alba: A Wildlife Adventure game.
Ustwo really knows how to unravel a poignant plot in a visually captivating setting using very simple means, a balance that is difficult to strike, and something that very few developers know how to do, especially when catering to a non-gaming audience. So yes, it’s safe to say that there’s a lot to look forward to, especially since we don’t have the luxury of physically stepping out on adventures these days.
Will Alba: A Wildlife Adventure game come to Android?
As per the little announcement at the end of the teaser, the game is set to be reserved for Apple OSes — iOS, macOS, and tvOS — PC, and console users. Ustwo Games hasn’t clarified whether it’d make its way to Android in the future. Additionally, the studio also didn’t confirm the make and model of the consoles the game would be coming to.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure game release date
Going by the official website, we can expect the game to hit the shelves in the winter of 2020. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles are also set to be released during the holidays in 2020. So, we won’t be surprised if Alba also sees the light of day around the same time.
