Verizon Wireless set to revamp its unlimited line-up with 4 new plans

After keeping its unlimited plan section untouched for over a year, Verizon Wireless is set to introduce four new unlimited plans in an attempt to offer more flexibility to its users. The new plans, Get More, Do More, Play More, and Start Unlimited, will be marginally cheaper than Verizon’s current three unlimited plans — Above, Beyond, and Go.

Coming to the pricing, the most premium option on the updated list, Get More, is $5 cheaper than Above Unlimited plan on all line situations. You also get 30GB LTE hotspot with Get More a solid — 10GB bump from Above Unlimited’s offering.

Apart from these two distinctions, everything has been kept untouched. You still have 720P streaming, free Apple Music, 75GB of premium data, and free 5G access.

The midrange segment is where things get a little confusing. Do More and Play More plans look almost identical and are priced the same on all line situations. However, if you look at the fine print, there are still some very subtle differences.

The Do More plan has been aimed at workaholics, it seems, as the plan offers 50GB of premium LTE data per month, but keeps the streaming resolution capped at 480p. The plan also comes with 6 months of Apple Music subscription.

The Play More, on the other hand, has half the premium LTE data (25GB) but allows 720p video streaming and comes with time-independent Apple Music subscription. Do More customers get a 50% discount on tablet and jetpack unlimited plans, which Play More subscribers don’t.

Last but not least, the Start Unlimited plan, as the name suggests, is the most inexpensive plan on the list. It offers no premium LTE data, no hotspot, and comes with only 480P streaming. It, however, still comes with 6 months of Apple Music subscription and 500GB of Verizon Cloud Storage (included in all plans).

The revamped unlimited line-up is set to be introduced on August 2nd and available starting August 5th.
