LG K8 V on Verizon network is receiving a new update which bumps up the software to Android 7.0 Nougat. The update, which is being rolled out over the air, arrives as software version VS50020a.

Other than the Nougat, the update also brings the latest security patches, but it’s not yet clear which one is it. It also resolves known issues and enhances device performance.

With the installation of the Android 7.0 Nougat, the LG K8 V gets a bunch of new features which enhances the UX. Verizon’s support page mentions these new features which include new themes, the popular multi-window support, improved notification controls, condition cards to help you change device settings and lots more. Among the new themes is present the Black Bold theme which has been brought back.

The update replaces LG’s Downloads app with Google’s Downloads app to provide users more options to filter by name, type, file size and more. LG K8 V users also get to change fonts and icon sizes with a slider control. Other new features include optimized Settings for Sound & Notification, Storage and USB.

Another useful feature to be added by the update is the support for deleted images to be stored in the Trash folder for 7 days after deletion.

As is the case with OTA roll out, it may take some time to appear on your device. Alternately you can check for it by going to Settings > About device > System updates.
