Verizon Droid Turbo Android 5.1 Root Status

Status: NOT AVAILABLE

Android 5.1 Lollipop is now finally rolling out for the Verizon Droid Turbo, and you should have the update notification coming to your device anytime now, ready to download and install. But if you care about root access, then you might want to hold off from updating your Droid Turbo to Lollipop for now.

Chances are good that after updating to Android 5.1 on your Droid Turbo, you won’t be able to downgrade back to KitKat. So install the Android 5.1 OTA update very cautiously, you may never have root access again after updating your device.

The moforoot developer has stated that moforoot has been patched on the Android 5.1 update, so it won’t work either. But the developer said that he will into a workaround for the patch, and if we’re lucky enough, this would get the moforoot to work again and root Droid Turbo on Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

Until root is available, we recommend you to hold back from the OTA update. We’ll update this page as soon as we get more info on the root status for Droid Turbo Lollipop update. Stay tuned..

  2. […] us should probably wait before installing this Android 5.1 OTA update on Verizon devices. In the root status post on Verizon Droid Turbo Android 5.1 update we did yesterday, it was clearly pointed that moforoot (the only root solution for Verizon […]

  3. Do you update this everyday? I need to root my droid to retrieve lost files that I lost BECAUSE of the stupid update. I need those files and I want to go back to that phone (I’m currently on my old iPhone and I hate it).

  5. Rooting the Droid turbo 5.1 can be done, have full Root and superuser I have 3 of them and they are fully unlocked and the unlocking the bootloader was not very hard once I got the correct tools to use, what got me was everything else that I found, made me wonder about people

    1. How did you do it? Please tell me. I haven’t been able to use my phone since it crashed a week after the 5.1 update and I lost ALL of my vacation photos. It was a important trip and I want them back!! (And to use my phone because I was terrified that using it might cause new pictures to override and permanently delete the old)

    2. We need to figure out how to communicate off this open place where the wrong can see, will your droid still turn on and all things are still there, just a little further in

    3. Dude… I want to root my phone… Can you tell me the steps to make it happen?

    4. If you can please send me the details on how to do this to my phone. I have an awesome plan that I am paying through the teeth for and the only thing that makes it worth while is being able to slam the hell out of the data by broadcasting it. They have made it impossible for me to do this with this stupid 5.1 lollipop update for me somehow.
