Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo users have started receiving a new firmware update which brings with it the latest monthly security patch. The new software update which is hitting the Droid Turbo devices on Verizon installs the February security patch.

Arriving as build number 24.91.5, the update is Marshmallow based. It not only installs the most up to date Android security patch on your Droid Turbo device but also brings system enhancements and bug fixes.

Verizon is seeding the update over the air and recommends you to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network before hitting the download button. Another recommendation is to ensure that your battery is fully charged before starting the software update.

Motorola Droid Turbo was launched way back in 2014 with Android KitKat OS on board. Two years after its launch, the device got Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update last year in December. As is obvious, chances of it getting bumped to Nougat OS are next to none.

But its successor Droid Turbo 2 got lucky last month with the release of Android 7.0 Nougat for it. The Nougat update for Droid Turbo 2 arrives as software version 25.11.10.

Meanwhile, Verizon is also pushing out the February security update to three LG devices (G3, G Vista and K4) and two Galaxy handsets ( S5 and Note Edge).
