Sony is cooking up some firmware updates for multiple Xperia devices, though don’t get your hopes up too high as these updates probably won’t be bringing Jelly Bean to any device. Firmware updates for the Xperia T/TX, ion, miro, and neo L were found passing certification at the PTRCB, so they could start rolling out in the next couple of weeks.
The Xperia ion (both LTE and HSPA+ variants) will be getting an update to firmware version 6.1.E.2.68, up from current version 6.1.E.1.XX, signifying an update that will bring more than just bug fixes. The other high-end Xperias, the Xperia T and TX, get a new firmware version 7.0.A.3.197, which going by the change in firmware version from the current 7.0.A.3.195 should be a minor update. As for the Xperia miro and neo L, each have been certified with firmware version 11.0.A.5.1 and 4.1.B.0.626, respectively.
Of course, like I already said, this is certainly not an update to Jelly Bean, as Sony has already said that the Android 4.1 goodness will start appearing for its devices from 2013 (and the miro and neo L aren’t slated to get Android 4.1 anyway). Expect to get more info on what these firmware updates bring, whenever they start rolling out.
