Sony has confirmed it will be at the Mobile World Congress 2018 that kicks off next week. While we are expecting to see the company unveil a bunch of new phones, there are uncertainties over which handsets it will be refreshing.
At the MWC 2017 a year ago, the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs were unveiled, which makes it likely that the two will be on the front line for a refresh at this year’s event. So far, we’ve seen several leaks about upcoming phones, with others dating as far as September 2017, however, it’s only now that things are becoming a little more vivid.
Last year, Xperia Blog reported about a bunch of Xperia phones that will be unveiled in 2018. The phones were spotted in Sony’s official user-agent profiles (UAProf’s) with model numbers H31XX, H41XX, and H42XX.
At the time, the only significant details the listings gave out were the phones’ display screen resolutions, software and Bluetooth version. However, according to new listings on benchmarking platform Geekbench, it appears that these phones may be ready for launch, perhaps even at the upcoming MWC 2018.
Sony Xperia H31XX specs
The Sony Xperia H3113 and H3123 should be two variants of the same phone. They both have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, just like it had been reported before.
Based on the previous report, the Sony H31XX should also come with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 and a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (full HD). In short, don’t expect anything to do with the new 18:9 design on this model.
Sony Xperia H41XX specs
As for the Sony Xperia H4113 and H4133, you get the same Snapdragon 660 chipset alongside 3GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Like the H31XX model, you still get a full HD resolution and Bluetooth 5.0.
Sony Xperia H42XX specs
Similar to the Xperia H31XX and H41XX, the Xperia H4213 and H4233 will also come with the same Snapdragon 660 chipset, but it gets a superior 4GB RAM. The same Android 8.0 Oreo will run the show out of the box.
Last year, a Sony Xperia H4233 handset appeared on GFXBench, which gives us more info about what to expect from the Xperia handset. In addition to the aforementioned specs, the Xperia H4233 should also come with a 6-inch full HD display screen, 64GB of internal storage, a 22MP main shooter and 16MP for selfies.
