Huawei has begun testing the Android 8.0 Oreo update for its 2016 flagship device, Mate 9. And thanks to the folks over at FunkyHuawei, the beta build of Mate 9’s Oreo update is now available for download for the European variants of the device.

Although, the information in the screenshots above show Android version 7.0, EMUI 5.0.1 and only 2GB of RAM for the Mate 9, the source has assured that the device is showing incorrect specs because of the beta firmware. Also, as per the source, battery and performance on Oreo beta for Mate 9 has been pretty good so far.

If you’d like to get Oreo running on your Mate 9, head over to the FunkyHuawei website to download and install the test firmware. However, know that the firmware is only available for the Europe variants of Mate 9 (both Single SIM and Dual SIM). If you don’t have a European variant, you can rebrand your Mate 9 (from other regions) to a European variant and then install the leaked Oreo firmware.

Notably, Huawei also confirmed the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X at a fan meetup in India.
