The Galaxy S8 and S8+ may not receive Android 10 update from Samsung but that doesn’t mean the monthly security updates are going away anywhere. In fact, even the carrier variants are joining in on the action sooner than later. The T-Mobile Galaxy S8 handsets are getting a new update as version DSH3 that ups the Android security patch level on the device to August 1st, 2019 (via Reddit).
Among other fixes, the August 2019 security update also brings a fix for the QualPwn vulnerability, thus, is an important one and you shouldn’t miss out on installing it right away.
In related news, Samsung’s Android 10 update based new One UI 2.0 OS was leaked out on the web today, showing off an early build being run on the Galaxy S10 Plus. There are no major changes on the face of it compared to the One UI 1.0/1.1 but it will get you all new features from Android 10. Sadly, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ won’t get Android 10.
