Substratum update (v671) brings full theming support for Android O and new features

One of the most popular theme engine for Android, Substratum, has received a massive new update. The latest version now supports the latest Android O software. Apart from that, several new features have also been added to the theme engine.

As you can see from the screenshots above, the theme engine runs perfectly well on the Nexus 6P running Android O. Although Android O is currently in developer preview, the final version will also work natively with Substratum.

The update includes a new Dynamic Refresh mode that automatically refreshes the list of themes that you have installed on your device. No need to swipe down to refresh. There’s also full Binderfacer support, but it is still under testing.

Apart from that, you will notice several changes to the UI, plenty of bug fixes, and better performance of the theme engine. Of course, Substratum requires your device to be rooted in order to change the theme. For more details on the update, go here.

  3. Substratum is the best thing that has happened to android customizations since its birth. Along with xposed of course. This level of theming is amazing. And the fact that they are efficient enough to already support O this early is mind blowing. Great going.
