Go to The Pit inside The Den, find Trick at the back of the area, and interact with him to complete the Talk to Trick objective.
Key The optional Talk to Trick objective is part of Smugglers and Slugrats. This conversation becomes available around Cycle 5 if you have been checking in with Trick between missions.
Where to find Trick and talk to him in Star Wars Zero Company
You can reach Trick by using The Den map and heading into The Pit.
STEP 1/3
Find The Pit on The Den map
Open The Den map and look for the The Pit label.
STEP 2/3
Go to the back of The Pit
Follow the base corridors into The Pit, then continue to the back where Trick is stationed.
STEP 3/3
Talk to Trick
Interact with Trick at his desk to start the required conversation and finish Talk to Trick.

What talking to Trick unlocks
During the conversation, Trick tells Hawks that he picked up a distress call on Republic frequencies from Sawtooth, a member of their old unit. Sawtooth and his unit are losing ground to Separatists on Ryloth, and Republic command cannot send backup.
After Hawks agrees to see what Zero Company can do, the objective tracker adds Launch Operation for Trick: Contact Sawtooth. This is the next progression point after the conversation.
