Plenty of Xiaomi devices are expected to finally make the switch to the stable MIUI 10 this month of November. We’ve already seen updates arrive for the Redmi Note 4X and Mi Max 2 (which was halted shortly after) as well as the Redmi Note 6 Pro and now it’s the turn of the more budget-friendly Redmi 5A.

Those using the China ROM got the stable MIUI 10 update on the Redmi 5A late last week and right then we knew it won’t be long before the same update arrives on the global variant. And indeed, the update is coming in as MIUI 10.1.1, the same version that graced the Chinese variant.

Being an initial rollout, the update is limited to a few lucky owners of the Redmi 5A that will be selected randomly. This is so that it’s easy to monitor how the new update performs before commencing a wider rollout later this week, so don’t freak out if the download notification hasn’t appeared on your phone.
