The current Mate series, that was launched last year has four smartphones under its banner: Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Mate 9 Porsche Design Edition, and Mate 9 Lite. The successor to the Mate series will launch next month, however, it’s not sure yet whether Mate 10 will come in four variants or just 2 variants (Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro) as rumored till now.
According to the popular tipster Evan Blass, Huawei Mate 10 Pro is code-named Blanc and Huawei Mate 10 is codenamed Marcel. However, today, another report from Evan Blass suggests that there is a different device with code name Alps. Alps could perhaps be Mate 10 Lite going by its specification, which we are going to read below.

According to the latest news report, Mate 10 Pro or Blanc will feature 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1,440 x 2,880 resolution. Interestingly, yesterday we saw a leaked image of Mate 10 Pro showing the device sporting an edge to edge display. Further, the report suggests Mate 10 Pro will feature recently launched Kirin 970 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage.
In terms of optics, Mate 10 will have a dual rear camera with 12MP and 20MP sensors. On the front, you get 8MP selfie shooter. Other features of Mate 10 Pro include IP68 water and dust certification, 4000mAh battery and an LTE Cat. 16 modem.

Talking about Huawei Alps, or Mate 10 Lite, it will feature a 5.88 inch IPS LCD display with 16:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. While other features remain same on Mate 10 Lite, it will feature 4GB of RAM only.
Alps or Mate 10 Lite and Mate 10 should debut on October 16 and ship in the same month while Mate 10 Pro will ship in December powered by Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 6.0.
