Soul Fragment Locations and Farming Routes in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Prepare for the mining trip before you head through the door, and leave room to recover afterward. Soul Stones are the payoff. From there, work extra collection stops into your travels.

Mine Soul Stones behind Spectral Doors

Your target inside a Spectral Door is a large crystalline deposit called a Soul Stone. Reaching the chamber starts with preparing your character at the entrance.

Prepare your mining tool before setting out. Obtaining Willow Logs unlocks the Steel Pickaxe recipe.

How to complete a Spectral Door farming run

Enter the chamber, collect its Soul Fragments and finish at a Purification Pool.

Cross the Spectral Door

Walk through the doorway to enter the spectral chamber.

Find the Soul Stones

Search the chamber for the large Soul Stone deposits you can mine.

Mine the deposits

Break the Soul Stones to release their fragments; expect approximately 30–40 per stone, with multiple stones in an instance.

Collect around the enemies

Gather the fragments while watching nearby enemies; combat can often be bypassed.

Leave the chamber

Head back through the Spectral Door after collecting the drops.

Reach a Purification Pool

Travel to a Purification Pool after your mining run.

Clear the pool’s obstruction

Break the corruption covering the pool to cleanse your character and return to normal form.

Connect Witchwillow Range and Lake of Lost Souls

Start looking for doors around Witchwillow Range and Lake of Lost Souls. Both have Spectral Door locations, and the corruption needed for entry is usually close to the doorway. Use those named areas to establish your mining stops.

Revisit Fellhollow chests and collect vault loot

If you reach Fellhollow before you’re comfortable fighting its enemies, look for chests around Bleakfields Valley and Witchwillow Range. The chest approach here allows collection without taking on tough enemies, making it a useful low-combat option when the approach is clear. It isn’t a promise that every chest is safe.

Mark each chest on your map and revisit after three in-game days, when it respawns. Alongside Soul Fragments, chest loot includes other resources and can include a mount variant.

A cluster around Witchwillow Range illustrates how several stops can fit together: a chest sits on a rocky ledge near a lodestone, another lies beside broken ruins, and a third is nearby. Those three chests can be collected in quick succession once you know their positions.

Keep Fellhollow vaults on your exploration list, too. Their loot can include Soul Fragments, adding another collection opportunity between your main farming stops.

Choose Green Dragons or Zogres for combat farming

For a dedicated combat stop, favor Green Dragons over Zogres and ordinary zombies. Larger monsters offer a better fragment farm than zombies, and Green Dragons are the preferred combat target in this approach.

Large monster drops and repeatability

Choose your Zogre encounter carefully when planning a repeating circuit.

During a Green Dragon fight, dodge its fire breath and broad wing sweeps. Dragon materials accompany its fragment loot, with chances at rare and special drops as well. Those extras give you another reason to include the fight.

Zogres have a different crafting incentive: a chance at Tier 5 Ascension Shards for masterwork upgrades. Treat those as an additional reward opportunity, separate from the guaranteed fragment entry.

Farm zombie routes and other undead drops

Roaming zombies appear across open plains, with numerous targets around Lake of Lost Souls. Bleakfields Valley also has successive zombie spawns for a route focused on undead kills. The roaming encounter here features level 57 zombies; that describes this encounter, not every zombie spawn.

Zombies move slowly and provide Zombie Packs and Undead Bone alongside their fragments. Take the kills when they fit your trip, but keep ordinary undead farming supplemental to mining and larger-monster hunts: the small fragment payouts make it a slower way to build a stockpile.

Soul Fragment drops from undead

Fellhollow enemies are Tier 5, so Tier 4 equipment or better is the preparation recommendation for quicker kills. That’s a combat recommendation, not an entry requirement.

Choose targets for the materials you need as well as their fragment drops. A Fellhollow trip can also collect Corpse Cotton for Fine Thread, giving your route a crafting purpose beyond currency.

• Pick an area with a fragment-dropping enemy and a useful set of companion materials.
• Match a known weakness with your weapon choice when one is available.
• Leave inventory slots open for fragments and the target’s other loot.
• Check your actual drops after the opening kills before committing to more laps.
• Return to storage before supplies run out, accounting for equipment durability, food and hydration.

Spend Soul Fragments at Death’s Exchange

Take your fragments to Death, the introductory merchant in a village near the beginning of Fellhollow. Interact with Death’s Exchange to spend them on purchases covering Tier 5 equipment, trinkets, rings, capes and mount-related rewards.

Read the item you’re buying carefully: some purchases are recipes or gear components, so spending fragments does not always put finished equipment in your inventory. For example, Remnants of a Rotting Robe is purchased at Death’s Exchange and used at the Armour Bench to craft the Tier 5 Necromancer’s Robe Top, alongside Corpse Cotton and Thread.

When you need another purchase, return to Soul Stone mining as your main farm, with chests and Green Dragons filling out the trip.
