Sony has officially started the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for the Xperia X Performance and the Xperia XZ. Both of these flagship smartphones from Sony will start receiving the Android Nougat update over-the-air. As this rollout will happen in phases. not everyone will get it today. Some users may see the update notification in a few days or a week.
The Beta program for Android Nougat was started a few months ago, and now the stable build is available for all users. The Xperia X Performance Android 7.0 firmware has the build number 39.2.A.0.327, whereas the Xperia XZ Nougat firmware build number is 39.2.A.0.327.
The update is available for the international and dual-SIM variants of both smartphones in select regions and networks. As mentioned in the beginning, other regions will start to see the update soon enough. The X Performance and the XZ are the first devices to get the update from the list of eligible devices. Other devices that will get Android Nougat are; Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, and Xperia X Compact.
Android 7.0 Nougat update for these devices will bring new features such as multi-window, better notifications, custom DPI, improved battery life and more. Sony has also included a few of their own features, such as manual camera settings on the Xperia X Performance, an improved Homescreen and an updated Messaging app.
