Samsung’s One UI is coming to the Galaxy S8, Note 8, and more devices

Samsung One UI

Over the recent past, Samsung has changed the name of its custom Android skin from the popular TouchWiz to Experience and now One UI. Of course, it’s likely this name change will have a similar effect to what Experience had over what people have come to know the company’s Android overlay as – that it’s still TouchWiz.

The new One UI will first hit the Galaxy S9 and S9+ via the upcoming Android 9 Pie beta program and later on arrive on the Galaxy Note 9 as a stable version. If anything, the new One UI will be part of all Samsung OS updates beginning with Pie going forward, including versions directed to older devices.

Samsung won’t be keeping One UI exclusive to the flagship Galaxy S and Note family. This same skin will also be on top of the Pie updates expected on the likes of Galaxy A9 2018, Galaxy A8 2018, and Galaxy A7 2018, among others.

The first markets to get the new One UI on the S9 and S9+ are the U.S., Germany and, of course, South Korea. Those in the UK, India, China, Poland, France, and Spain should also follow suit sooner than later. As for the rest, the stable version will arrive in January 2019.
